So here is some web shots of an ad and marketing campaign for a roll out around Europe that we did a little while ago out in South Africa for this fab little product called iBGStar by Sanofi Aventis.

So what it is is this. You have Diabetes right. You put a little pin prick onto a control strip which goes into said fab iBGStar gizmotron-a-ma-thingy which analysis’s it. What’s more an ap on the iPhone records it, keeps a chart of all the readings and send’s the data to your doctor, so that should anything be awry it’s picked up straight away. How cool is that!

Great team from the agency EURO RSCG LIFE lead by the ever capable Nick, Rosie and Damion, and aided and abetted by the supercagfragalisticexpealidocious Natasha Freeman on styling, Patrick King as an able 1st assist backed up by the sassy Natalie Corfield with patient retouching by Rob Vanderplank other wise known as “son of chuck” [Norris] the talent was cast and provided by our friends at Mustard Models. It’s nice to be in a pool in 80 degree sun when everyone else is freezing back at home isn’t guys and gals!

These are from a project I worked on just before Christmas and has now rolled out over 64 locations around the country on huge banners, posters and totems. I polished off my special hard but soft light (!!) and used the inherent lack of depth of field of medium format to create the feel. What was nice about this is the result is very much a team effort from a great client contact, nice one Katie, through to excellent account management and creative direction from the agency Rufus Leonard. The subjects themselves (all 15 of them!) to a man/woman could not have been more patient whilst we tweaked in the tight lighting requirements. These are the real people not models.

Don’t you just love it when a plan comes together.

Very nice to work again with the most excellent Rob from Me and Dave on this piece for the Tapestry building up near Liverpool St. Here is a couple of un-retouched outtakes from the shoot. I appear to be having a bit of a black and white phase so I thought I might indulge myself here as well! I guess you can tell it was kinda windy up there. As well as this Mad men inspired approach we shot a couple of other nice things up at Spitalfields and outside the Tapestry building itself so I’ll pop them up in a different post.

Not because she’s scary you understand but because I can’t remember where all that time went. I can recall however thinking what a bad idea it was being on the back of Carol’s bike one evening as she rode into the kerb after what can only be described as “many” beers. We have all calmed down a bit since then and Carol has grown into something of a star in the sculpture world, exhibiting and selling internationally with agents in many countries. So when she rang up and asked if could come over to her studio in Bristols Paintworks and shoot some her new pieces for her forthcoming exhibition I jumped at the chance. It’s always lovely to spend time with the work of someone as good as Carol but to be also able to shoot it and observe it under light gives it an extra pleasure and chance to really look at form.

Visit her website here.

This is the very nice and accommodating Helen on the floor of Lloyds Banking Group trading floor which she is responsible for. I shot this on the amazing Canon 200mm F2 which is a monster of a lens and will set you back about £5K. This is shot at F2 which has a depth of field shallower than a contestant on Celebrity Big Brother.. The Canon 200mm F2.8 lets in half the light and is 5x cheaper but there is something so creamy and lovely about F2 (apart from getting you out the poo when the light is failing) that its worth it. (don’t tell the family that this is where the holiday money went!)
